Jinnah's Pakistan

“If we want to make this great State of Pakistan happy and prosperous we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well-being of the people, and especially of the masses and the poor... you are free. you are free to go to your temples mosques or any other place of worship in this state of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the state... in due course of time Hindus will cease to be Hindus and Muslims will cease to Muslims- not in a religious sense for that is the personal faith of an individual- but in a political sense as citizens of one state”

Mohammad Ali Jinnah
Address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan, Karachi
August 11, 1947

"Our object should be peace within, and peace without. We want to live peacefully and maintain cordial friendly relations with our immediate neighbours and with the world at large."

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On December 10, 1948 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights the full text of which appears in the following pages. Following this historic act the Assembly called upon all Member countries to publicize the text of the Declaration and "to cause it to be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on the political status of countries or territories."

Purpose of this Blog

We have been socialized to hate Ahmadis (aka Qadianis). They are the biggest victims of institutionalized bigotry and hatred in Pakistan. They are tax paying citizens but do not enjoy equal status in Pakistan. Discrimination and Persecution is a regular feature of their lives. They are humiliated, beaten, murdered, jailed, hounded from jobs and schools. Why do we continue to single them out? Our opinions of them are guided by hearsay. We hope to encourage you to research the issue for yourself.

This blog seeks to;
  1. explore the historical dimension of persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan
  2. demonstrate that the persecution of Ahmadis in Pakistan is a recurring event and a direct consequence of the discriminatory Constitutional edicts
  3. dispel myths about Ahmadi beliefs popularized by Mullahs to arouse hatred
  4. list relevant primary sources and provide research material
  5. archive relevant media discourse

Note: If you have any material you would like to be included, please send us a message. We will include it to our blog after review if we find it relevant.
